Medical Marijuana induces vomiting and nausea and is quite effective in chemotherapy. There is something called CINV which is Chemotherapy induced Nausea and Vomiting. Recently studies have found out that cannabinoids are more effective that some of the conventional antiemetic’s the names of which are metoclopramide, promethazine and prochlorperazine. The long term the usage of cannabis may cause vomiting and nausea and this condition are known as the syndrome of cannabinoid hyperemesis.
In the year 1999 there was an institute in America which was called the Institute of Medicine that runs by the United States National Academy of Sciences conducted a study about the potential benefits of health of a patient by the use of cannabis and its constituent’s cannabinoids. The study told that smoking cannabis should not be given to any patient in the treatment of any sort of disease.it should absolutely not be used by any disease. Pain, anxiety, loss of appetite and feeling of nausea, can be mitigated by cannabis.
The study also said that the use of smoked cannabis causes a lot of health risks. While another method was not developed just as smoked cannabis, till then there was no alternative for the physicians to give instant relief to the patients. This herb was non patentable due to which there was an inherent trouble in marketing it as companies who deal in pharmacy will make investments in its smaller development. The study also revealed that smoked cannabis has very little future in the medical industry. Not only should this but also for those patients who are really sick should not be concern about the long term effects of smoked cannabis.
